Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all
those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures
forever!
Interpretation-
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. This isn't a fear of
his judgments, but it is a reverence of Him. It is respect for his
will and for his commandments. It is more of a fear of offending him
than a fear of his judgments. Psalm
112:1
Says, “Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who
greatly delights in his commandments!” So when fearing the LORD we
delight in his commandments. Wisdom can't even start until we are
fearing the LORD or have a reverence for God since the fear of the
LORD is the beginning of knowledge. We can't find wisdom in this
world. We should be practicing and living out God's commandments. God
is worthy to be praised forever.
Application-
I can apply this today by delighting in God's word and praying and
thanking Him for his commandments. 1
Jn 3:23
says “And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of
his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded
us.” So I will strive to love my brothers and encourage them.
